Position Title:

Latino Visitation Monitor/Case Manager


Reporting Relationship: Client Services Director
Category of Employment: Salaried/Exempt

Position summary:
This 40-hour per week position is equally divided between monitoring supervised visitations and monitored exchanges; case management; and outreach to the Latino community.

Primary responsibilities:
  • Monitor exchanges and visits that occur in Spanish in a neutral and safe manner working collaboratively with program staff, security personnel and volunteers
  • Conduct orientations, schedule and follow-up with Spanish speaking families
  • Schedule bilingual volunteer monitors to assist in service provision
  • Provide leadership and support to bilingual volunteer monitors
  • Write court reports on an as-needed basis
  • Perform other tasks and duties as assigned by Client Services Director or Executive Director
  • Provide community outreach to the Latino community
Working conditions:

The majority of time for this position is spent at The Family Visitation Center. Hours for all Center personnel are flexible and vary according to client need. Several evenings per week and one Saturday a month is required.

Preferred professional and personal characteristics:
  • Four-year degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related field
  • Fluently speaks and writes Spanish
  • Effective interpersonal skills that build mutual trust and respect with clients and their families, other Center staff, Board, and community contacts
  • Commitment to maintaining a quality program
  • Experience with social service, school, court and mental health systems
  • Experience with computer-based information systems
  • Experience and commitment to working with volunteers
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional and ethical standards of confidentiality and neutrality
  • Competence in written and oral communications, report writing and computer use
  • Ability to work with Client Services Director and Executive Director in establishing priorities, following through on tasks and managing multiple projects.
  • Self-motivated and committed to continuing personal and professional excellence and growth
  • Effective experience working with emotionally charged situations, clients experiencing conflict, transition and the court system
