About the Chapter

Chapter Goals

Create cohesion between Chapter members through the use of Web based discussion boards, conference calls and chapter meetings.

Strengthen the connection between providers and the Court System by personally meeting with Judges, Court Commissioners, and Family Court Investigators. Marketing SVN and Washington Chapter members.

Clarify the Education level necessary for acting as a Visitation Supervisor and offer continual training to perfect professionally supervised services for families in Washington State.

Lobby for RCW’s that specifically address Supervised Visitation.

Objectives

To provide continuing professional training for all Washington Chapter members. To work together and network as a profession and provide services to families and children in our local areas with a focus on conflict free access to children with both parents.

What's Going On

We have completed the election process and the new Board is now in place.

Roles and Responsibilities

The following are the roles and responsibilities for board members and for general members.

Chair
Communicate with SVN National
Chair chapter and annual meetings
Organize meetings
Review minute draft from Secretary
Review Treasurer's report
Monitor the gmail account and ensure all communications are forwarded to the correct parties
Motivate members to participate in training
Promote and market SVN where ever possible
Uphold the BY LAWS of Washington Chapter SVN, and the Standards and Guidelines of SVN National


Vice Chair
Update the guide book annually with assistance from Secretary, membership directory is based on the SVNetwork.net web-directory information (it is member responsibility to ensure their information is up to date and correct)
Welcome new and renewing members
Promote and market SVN where ever possible
Coordinate and schedule chapter training with member input
Assist the Chair

Secretary
Collect information received from members about additions to the agenda
Collect the discussion threads started since previous meeting
Create agendas for monthly and annual meetings
Send out agenda by email to members
Take notes at chapter meetings
Send minute draft to Chair for review
Email approved chapter meeting minutes
Monitor the gmail account and ensure all communications are forwarded to the correct parties
Post to the website: minutes, upcoming training info and past training information.


Treasurer
Record bank account transactions, balance checkbook and prepare a monthly report
Record dues and membership renewals
Email Treasurer’s report to Chair and Secretary timely so the Treasurer's report can be included in the Chapter agenda prior to each Chapter meeting.
Treasurer to audit membership roster with dues received from National to ensure Chapter receives proper funding from National for each member
Tally members continuing education credits
Tax Reporting Obligations


Members (Duties & Responsibilities) As a member, you are expected to adhere to the following:
1) Check the SVNetwork.net web site semi monthly for news updates and postings
2) Have access to SVN Washington Chapter Google documents
3) Attend meetings, at minimum two meetings per year either in person or by phone.
4) Participate in group discussions and email threads
5) Adhere to training requirements and report to treasurer

Our goal as individual members is to get the word out about SVN, because if we help all of us, we help ourselves, individually.

Next meeting

Monthly Washington Chapter meetings AND training are the 3rd Tuesday of each Month, except July & August and December.

TRAINING 11:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Offered by Chair, unless otherwise noted in the agenda.

Calendar of Events
New Board members to take their positions beginning January 1, 2013.
Board members met on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at the office of the Treasure, Deborah Reihl. The Minutes from that meeting will be emailed to the Washington State Chapter members the week of February 4, 2013. The Agenda for the first scheduled meeting of the year will be emailed at the same time. The updated Guide Books will be put on a CD and mailed to Chapter members in February.
