Supervised Visitation is
a relatively new and rapidly emerging concept. Those who started 10-15
years ago can testify of the isolation that they experienced. The primary
benefit of membership is to have access to others who are working in
this or related fields to provide support and exchange of information.
Other benefits include:
- Referrals
- A list of Washington SVN
members providing visitation services is made available to the local
courts, attorneys, and parents.
- A listing in the International
SVN directory and the Washington SVN directory of service providers,
which is distributed in a booklet. The directories are also available
on the International and Washington SVN web-sites.
- Access to other members
through the SVN Membership e-mail list.
- Subscription to the quarterly
SVN Newsletter
- Discounts for SVN conferences
- Discounts on training materials
distributed through the International SVN Resource Center
- Opportunity to distribute
your materials through the International SVN Resource Center
- Membership in the International
and Washington Chapter to provide networking opportunities and exchange
of information in your area.
- A vote at the Washington
Chapter meetings as well as a vote at the International SVN membership
meetings
- Eligibility for election
as director and/or officer of the International SVN and/or eligibility
for nomination to various committee positions such as the Chairperson
for the Washington SVN Chapter.
